New Years Eve Bash!!

The Buddha Den Top 5 Local Releases

We're excited to announce that The Buddha Den has included our album State of Ohio in their list of the Top 5 Local Releases of 2008. There was a lot of great music coming out of Dayton during the last year and we're honored to even get mentioned. Check out The Buddha Den to see what other Dayton-area records made the list and to stay updated on what's going on in the Dayton music scene.

The Big Takeover

We got a nice little write-up in the latest issue of the great music magazine The Big Takeover. Here's what they had to say:

Northwest Ordinance, The
State of Ohio

(False Profit)
There's something great about lo-fi garage rock records. Like it almost sounds as if you could be discovering some old lost classic. Whether it's 1968 or 2008, angst being taken out on guitars and drums sounds remarkably the same as long as you don't mess with it too much, and State is a pretty straight to tape sort of experience. That's not to say NO doesn't do anything original with the genre or their instruments, for that matter; it's just they don't try to pretty it up on production or by adding keyboards or strings or anything. File under: rustbelt, cheap beer, and The Stooges.

Dayton Dirt Collective Monday 7/28/2008

We're gonna be playing our first show at the new DIY space in Dayton The Dayton Dirt Collective on Monday July 28th.

This should be a really fun show. We're gonna be playing with local favorites The Sics and our good friends The Goody Two Shoes. Headlining the show will be The Luchagors from Atlanta, GA. These horror punks are fronted by former WWE wrestler Lita (who goes by her real name Amy now).

Should be an interesting show to say the least.

Hope to see ya there.

Oregon Express 7/19/2008

Here are some excellent photos from last night's show at The Oregon Express with Mountain Screamer and Church of the Red Museum, compliments of Kyle Melton and his excellent blog dedicated to the Dayton music scene The Buddha Den.

Head on over to The Buddha Den for a full review of the show and more pictures.

Thanks to The Oregon Express for putting on the show, Mountain Screamer and Church of the Red Museum for playing amazing sets and Kyle Melton/The Buddha Den for all his support.
